October 13, 2019The reunited original lineup of the 1990s Swedish death metal band DISMEMBER played its first comeback show last night (Saturday, October 12) at the Scandinavia Deathfest 2019 festival at Kraken in Stockholm, Sweden. Fan-filmed video footage of the concert can be seen below.
DISMEMBER's lineup for the show was as follows:
Matti Kärki - Vocals
David Blomqvist - Lead Guitar
Robert Sennebäck - Rhythm Guitar
Richard Cabeza - Bass
Fred Estby – Drums
DISMEMBER will also appear at next year's edition of the Maryland Deathfest.
DISMEMBER's original lineup released a couple of acclaimed albums in the early 1990s, including the classic debut, 1991's "Like An Ever Flowing Stream", which was heralded as a milestone for the then-burgeoning Swedish death metal scene.
The latest, self-titled album from DISMEMBER was released in Europe in 2008 via Regain Records.
DISMEMBER called it quits in October 2011, several months after performing at Germany's Death Feast Open Air festival. The show marked DISMEMBER's first concert since 2008.
In August 2016, Estby told Invisible Oranges about a possible DISMEMBER reunion: "People were telling me that all the time. So maybe we should try to do some shows and get everything back. We always owned our rights to the albums and shirts, but there's still loose ends to tie up. I just wanted to set the record straight and hopefully do some shows in the future."
